Sweet Lemon Smile

Shopping first time at the Conestoga Mall of Waterloo!
Got these incredibly comfortable Mocassins from Stepps and anklets from Aldo. I miss shopping back in Canada! Oh and the food... but I realize things aren't THAT much cheaper than Britain, with tips and tax I think the prices are just a bit more in Manchester (but food is way better over here obviously). I keep thinking it was sooooo much less over here but either inflation went up a lot since September or I was just oblivious. A lot has changed over here too, from Commerce Gate completely turning over all their old shops to different menus at the local diners. One thing is the same... traffic. Ridiculous how much traffic there is... or maybe it's even worse! Can't wait till I get to live downtown Toronto.

p.s. I got the Samsung5!! Will be uploading a lot of photos taken from that phone in the near future!

DIY Friday and Chill Factore!!

as you see in the last post, I designed this floor length cream dress for my graduation ball!
Took me about two days to make, I am quite please by the way it turned out!! Will update with better pictures!
Also got these lovely K G Kurt Geiger heels to match, can't wait for Saturday!!

CHILL FACTORE! After talking about coming here for months we finally made it! It was so much fun despite it was a small hill indoors, it was definitely refreshing to be able to snowboard once this year! Then we had some Nandos and went rock climbing. what an adventurous day ;)

DIY friday

I'm sure you have all seen this "Mermaids Have More Fun" tee all over pinterest and instagram. Well, being a Mermaids fanatic, I looked around for it and all I could find were awful font imitation ones for 20-30 quid! I decided to make my own, especially after watching The Fashion Citizen's DIY Graphic Tee (Super Simple).

You will need:
  1. a t-shirt or make your own
  2. Fabric Transfer Paper I got 20 x A4 Iron On T- Shirt Transfer Paper for Light Fabric on ebay for 7pounds. So each page is 35pence, not bad (unless you're like me and make a bunch of mistakes haha)
  3.  Graphic (e-mail if you would like to use mine!)
  4. iron or heat press

I decided to make my tee an off shoulder, tie up crop top.
OMG it was so hard to transfer the print. I was ironing and ironing (with the school iron) and finally I read the instruction and luckily I have a heat press at my disposal and followed the instruction of 40 seconds and voila. Perfecto. I made my own graphic on Adobe Illustrator.

The fabric is 70% Bamboo and 30% Organic Cotton, SO SOFT!
Got it at Wazzodle (ethical fabric produced in USA/ Canada).
I don't really ever make patterns for casual knit wear... so I don't have exact measurements but that is the pattern I used more or less. I'm really going to miss the twin needle cover stitch machine at my uni!

p.s. some interesting things I found this week:

I always preach about going against mass production/ fast cheap fashion, I think ModeLab outdid herself in her post Easing Into Buying From Philanthropic Brands.

How amazing is it to print off any cosmetic product at the comfort of your home? Harvard woman, Grace Choi talks about 3D Print Makeup !

Laughter. Parties. Design.

This is my hangover face, it was such a fabulous weekend. I think after a good night out I get the morning glow haha, which is ironic because I probably dented my liver. I'm just enjoying my last few months in England with no more uni work!
We have a graduation banquet coming up and with the newly acquired free time, why not sew myself one;) this is the design:

P.s. This is one of my final assignment, and 100 hours of my life!

p.p.s. don't miss out on the May sale!

MAY is freedom month

Exams and final assignments are over! Treat yourself to some handmade goodies at with 10% off all items!
My new scuba dress from Asos. I love the shape but the arm hold was quite tight:( I didn't want to go a size up so I did a little sewing surgery to the arm holes haha.

and my new DUNE box hand bag, I absolutely love how it opens and snaps like a box!

do you have anything with a too small arm hole?

p.s. officially done my undergrad! I handed in my final assignment yesterday and it is going to be a long month of celebration ;)
